Production Supervisor

Gaylord Archival is seeking a dayshift Production Supervisor to lead our team of ~20 skilled manufacturing co-workers in a clean, modern and air-conditioned work environment.


Gaylord Archival, located in Syracuse, NY, is the premier preservation and display company in the nation, serving museums, archives, and other cultural institutions for over 130 years. We manufacture enclosures (sleeves, boxes, showcases) that protect, preserve, and display irreplaceable artifacts so they can be shared for many generations to come.

Job Type: Full-time; non-exempt
Pay: $30.00—$37.00 per hour, depending on qualifications
Location: On-site—Syracuse, NY
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00am—3:30pm

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
 

Production Planning
  • Schedules daily and weekly work to meet customer requirements
  • Willingness to operate equipment and machines as needed
Capacity Planning & Co-worker Development
  • Develops cross-training plans to support co-worker development and increase capacity
  • Rotates co-workers for improved safety and engagement
Continuous Improvement Leader
  • Identifies top reasons for waste
  • Works across functions to identify and implement solutions
Safety Champion
  • Daily leader on the manufacturing floor
  • Proactively minimizes unsafe acts and conditions
  • Key member of the Safety Committee
Partners with Purchasing
  • Provides feedback on purchase product quality and packaging
  • Collaborates in evaluating new suppliers

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of production leadership. Preferred experience includes
    • Proficiency with ERP system(s)
    • Demonstrated success in leading operations with small run sizes of standard and custom parts
    • Proven ability to optimize productivity and quality
    • Working knowledge of 3-axis CNCs, paperboard converting equipment and paint booths
