Industrial Manufacturing Technician (IMT) Apprentice

Seeking an Industrial Manufacturing Technician Apprentice to learn and operate our manual and CNC operations in our climate-controlled manufacturing facility!

This is an on-site, full-time, day-only position in our growing production environment for our archival products.

Position Basics

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Starting Salary: $18.50 per hour
    • You will receive periodic reviews during your apprenticeship with increases based on work performance and a path to $24 per hour upon successful completion of the apprenticeship program.
  • Payment frequency: Paid weekly
  • Expected hours: 40 per week
  • Schedule: 8 hour day shift, Monday through Friday

Successful candidates:

  • Have a preference and ability to be physically and mentally active.
    • Physical - IMTs stand, walk, bend and reach throughout the day.
    • Technical - IMTs utilize fundamental math and electro-mechanical properies to set up and operate equipment (both manual and CNC controlled).
  • Values producing quality products safely and on-pace (a reasonable pace, we are neither sprinting nor coasting).
  • Enjoy a mix of working independently and in small work groups.
  • Desire to join a successful team that serves our customers' mission to preserve and share history.
  • Are looking for a career, not another job.

After a successful 90-day introductory period, you will participate in our Manufacturing Technician apprentice program in partnership with the Manufacturers Association of Central New York (MACNY) and the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL). Upon completion of all requirements and training of this 16-month program, you will become eligible to receive a NYS Journeyman card and earn up to $24 per hour. The apprenticeship requires on-the-job training on our five key work cells, classroom instruction to be completed outside of working hours (amount is dependent on prior education and certifications), OSHA 10 completion, and a First Aid/CPR course.

Experience:

1 or more years working in a manufacturing/production floor environment preferred, but not required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical work instructions
  • One or more years working in a manufacturing/production floor environment preferred
  • Math, mechanical and/or woodworking skills are a plus!
