This website includes a full text library of conservation information encompassing a wide spectrum of topics related to the conservation of library, archives and museum materials. They also provide links to a number of other conservation organizations.

“The Preservation of Recorded Sound Materials”
A wonderful discussion by Gilles St. Laurent of the National Library of Canada’s Music Division of how recording devices work, what they are made of, how the deteriorate and what can be done to prolong their life.

The Image Permanence Institute (IPI)
RIT has developed this website devoted to scrapbook and home archives preservation. Included at this site are a very useful glossary and a Preservation Calculator (a downloadable program which can be used to estimate photo, scrapbook, and memorabilia longevity based on the average temperatures and humidity in which these objects are stored).
