If you're planning on practicing what you learned in the demonstration with Rebecca Elder, utilize scrap paper first and do not attempt to mend anything of value. You should consult a conservator for repairs if you are not practiced and confident in your technique.

You should also have the following materials that aren't listed below on hand:

• Small containers for water/wheat starch paste

• Soft paint brushes from an art supply/craft store

• Iris, embroidery or small, sharp scissors
