Hide Beetle Kit

Use the Hide Beetle Kit to determine the scope and nature of hide beetle infestations. Kit includes ten hide beetle pheromone lures and ten pesticide-free flat traps designed to monitor and capture hide beetles. Hide beetles (Dermestes maculatus) feed on dried museums specimens, animal skins, silks and food, and they can be especially damaging to natural history and textile collections. Place flat trap in areas prone to infestation. Flat traps allow these collection pests easy entry. Monitor frequently. Once you've identified an infestation, sanitation, inspection and removal of infested material are all critical.
